Chinese EV maker Li Auto launches cheap AI glasses

Chinese electric vehicle maker Li Auto has launched its first wearable product, the Livis artificial intelligence glasses, reports the South China Morning Post. The move sees the EV maker enter the rapidly expanding market already crowded by tech giants like Alibaba Group Holding, Huawei Technologies and Xiaomi.

The device is priced at RMB 1,999 ($282), but buyers who place an order before Dec 31 qualify for a 15% rebate via the government-backed subsidy programme, bringing down the price to RMB 1,699.

That effectively makes it among the cheapest in China, comparable with Huawei Eyewear 2, launched in 2023 by telecoms giant Huawei Technologies, which starts at RMB 1,699. Alibaba’s Quark G1, introduced last month, and the Xiaomi AI Glasses released in June, are both currently priced at a discounted RMB 1,899.
