Chinese IT firm sues Microsoft

Chinese information-technology company Zhongyi Electronic has filed a lawsuit against Microsoft in Beijing for alleged intellectual property rights violations, the Wall Street Journal reported. The suit involves Zhongyi’s product Zhengma, a Chinese input-method editor used for entering Chinese characters using a keyboard. The Chinese company says Microsoft paid to use the technology in 1998 for Windows 95, but has since used the program and the company’s fonts without signing contracts for their commercial use. Microsoft claims that it has written license agreements with Zhongyi and has performed all of its obligations in accordance with them.
