Chinese lawyer to sue Baidu under anti-monopoly law

Li Changqing, a lawyer with George Wu & Partners Law Firm, announced Tuesday that he plans to bring legal action against Chinese internet portal Baidu by the end of the month, state media reported. Suing on behalf of a Chinese medical website, Li claims that Baidu blocks websites that refuse to pay for listings. A report by China Central Television two weeks ago made similar claims, and also reported that Baidu gave top listings to unlicensed medical websites. Baidu holds 70% of China’s search engine market at present.
