Chinese trade negotiators will head to US for trade talks after National Day holiday

Chinese Vice-Premier Liu He will lead a delegation to Washington for a new round of high-stakes trade talks in the week following the National Day holiday, said the Ministry of Commerce, reported the South China Morning Post.

Wang Shouwen, Vice-Commerce Minister and a key member of China’s trade negotiation team, also said the deputy ministerial-level talks in Washington last week were “constructive” and called for the situation to be handled with mutual respect and calm heads.

“We hope, in the 13th round of trade negotiations, both countries can meet each other halfway based on equality and mutual respect, and can take care of each other’s concerns, to resolve conflict through discussion in a calm and rational manner,” Wang said.
