Males and females between 14 and 20 in urban China have their first sexual experience at the average age of 17.4, almost nine years earlier than their grandparents, state media reported, citing a new survey published on Tuesday. Experts attribute the trend to the opening up of China, the earlier arrival of puberty and the widespread exposure to sex in popular culture.
