Chip industry gets funding

China says it will establish a special fund to promote research and development in the semiconductor industry in an effort to provide more incentives following the end of the value-added tax rebates on China-made semiconductors in April. Reports did not disclose the size of the fund but said all mainland registered IC companies are eligible to apply for funding.
