“Love Land,” a risque sex theme park in Chongqing, was demolished last weekend before it could open, AP reported. Exhibits had already been set up in the park, including giant plastic reproductions of genitalia, a oversized pair of female legs wearing a thong and “dissertations” on sexual culture around the world. The park’s main investor, Lu Xiaoqing, said his plan was to boost sexual awareness and improve people’s sex lives by holding “sex technique workshops” in the park. However, a rising chorus of protest in local state-owned media led Chongqing government officials to order the park closed and the exhibits destroyed.
