China Investment Corp, the country’s sovereign wealth fund, has hired the former managing director of Starr International to head its real estate investment fund, Reuters reported. Collin Lau is expected to join CIC in late December or early January. In addition to real estate, Lau will be responsible for direct investment and non-real estate private equity funds. His appointment follows the appointment of former UBS head of investment Zhou Yuan to lead CIC’s alternative investments division. Lau will report to Zhou.
