City University celebrates ten years in China

[photopress:Beijingunioftech.jpg, full, alignright]City University, which offers among other things an MBA, is celebrating its tenth year in China. It was established in August of 1996 and formed a partnership with the Canadian Institute of Business and Technology Corporation School of Business (CIBT), and the Beijing University of Technology (BJUT).

The MBA program began with 39 students and has now graduated nearly 1,000 students.
The success of the students in China has led to corporate sponsorships by Boeing and Schneider Electric China.
In 2004 the program was ranked among the top-ten most influential Sino-foreign joint MBA programs in China by World Executive Weekly magazine.

City University has recently formalized an agreement with the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE). Under the agreement, a one-plus-three program was established that will allow students to complete their first year of undergraduate studies at UIBE and then transfer to City University in the U.S. to complete their four year bachelor’s degree.

Lee Gorsuch, president of City University, said, ‘I am confident that our involvement in China will expand and create opportunities for increasing numbers of Chinese students to study in the Northwest and who use their contacts here to do ever more business with our local companies.’
