Civil aviation industry records RMB8 billion profit

Li JiaxiangDirector General of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Li Jiaxiang (seen here) said, at the recently-held 15th World Route Development Forum, that China’s civil aviation industry has recorded profits of RMB8 billion so far this year.

This indicates full recovery.

But note he did not indicate how much of that came from domestic travel and how much from overseas flights.

He said that in the future, China will strengthen the composite hub construction of the country’s three major gateways – Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai, improve the construction of the trunk network and the promotion of regional aviation development, and strive to establish a more coordinated, comprehensive, efficient and convenient national public aviation transport system within three to five years.
And one that consistently made a profit.

People’s Daily Online reported that iIn 2008, China’s aviation industry recorded losses of RMB28 billion.
