CNPC plans second west-east gas pipeline

China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has announced a road map for its second natural gas pipeline from west to east China, Xinhua Net reported (in Chinese). The project, which will begin construction in 2008, is due to be completed in 2010 with an annual capacity of 30 billion cubic meters. CNPC's second transport line will import natural gas from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan through Houerguos in the northwestern region of Xinjiang to east China's Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta areas, said an officer in CNPC's planning department.
