Cold snap in South China causes economic losses

A cold snap in Southern China has caused early snowfalls and incurred significant economic losses, the South China Morning Post reported, citing state media. Economic losses were estimated to be US$1.03 billion. Cities including Nanjing, Hefei and Guiyang are all reporting temperatures below freezin., Wuhan, capital of Hubei province, has reported its worst snowstorms in 40 years with temperatures of minus 10 degrees Celsius. Recent snowstorms in the north of the country have caused widespread transport chaos and the deaths of 32 people, the Ministry of Civil Affairs said.
