Biden to China: "You're safe"

Speaking at the end of a week-long trip to China, US Vice President Joe Biden told an audience at Sichuan University in Chengdu that the US economy remains dynamic and is a safe place to invest, AP reported. Biden was attempting to address Chinese concerns related to Standard & Poors recent downgrade of US sovereign debt and the general budgetary challenges facing the world’s largest economy. “You’re safe,” said Biden. In his remarks, he also stressed the mutual interdependence between the two economies. State media responded by calling for a demonstration of action by the US government to address these issues – such as reducing the deficit and promoting growth.
