Cosco alliance makes changes to services

China Ocean Shipping Co (Cosco) and alliance partners K Line, Yangming and Hanjin are to make changes to two of their joint services on the Pacific to enable the introduction of an express service between China and Long Beach, California. The new service will provide one of the fastest transits between Long Beach and central China.

Starting from mid-April, the southeast Asia service will deploy five 5,500 teu vessels. It will serve Xiamen, Yantian, Hong Kong, Long Beach and Xiamen, dropping existing calls at Yokohama, Seattle and Vancouver. Seattle and Vancouver will continue to be served by other strings.

The China/northeast Asia service has also been changed, with an existing call at Pusan now dropped and replaced by the eastbound Yokohama call. Five 3,500 teu vessels will be deployed, calling at Dalian, Tianjin, Qingdao, Yokohama, Long Beach, Oakland, Yokohama and Dalian.
