Pacific service The Cosco, K Line, Yangming ‘alliance’ is to launch a new pendulum service (AUM) in April by combining their existing service between Asia and the US east coast, and the trans-Atlantic service between the US east coast and the Mediterranean.
Cosco has also disclosed it is dropping its shuttle service linking Genoa and New York, which presently operates every 10 days, and includes calls at Fos and Halifax.
The new AUM port calls are still being finalised, but they will include Boston. According to Cosco sources, the remaining ports ‘are not unlike those presently being served’. United Alliance lines Hanjin and Senator have both said they could be interested in participating in the AUM.
