Cross-strait talks on zero-tariff to be cancelled

Talks between the Mainland and Taiwan representatives over tariff-free policies on fruit from the island are likely to be canceled due to a likely no-show by Taiwan, state media reported, citing Wang Liaoping, standing vice-chairman with the Cross-Srait Association for Economic and Trade Communication. Taiwan President Chen Shui-bian has called the Mainland's tariff-free offer a politically motivated, "fully-fledged war to achieve the goal of unification" with Taiwan.
