China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) has made changes to its Asia/America/Thailand (AAT) service from November, following the splitting of the existing Asia/America South into two separate services, a new look Asia/America South service and a restored Asia/America Central service. The moves are intended to increase coverage of the lucrative China market.
From November, the AAT service started included calls at Qingdao and Dalian, while it dropped direct calls at Los Angeles. China cargo will now move over one US west coast port, Seattle, and ships will use Vancouver to feed the Canadian gateway. The ten 2,500/3,000 teu vessels now deployed will now serve no fewer than seven ports in Hong Kong and China.
