The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) said it will start accepting applications for China’s new Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) board on Sunday, July 26, Dow Jones reported. The board will focus on companies that operate in sectors including biomedicine, information technology, renewable energy and environmental protection. The board will be open to companies that have never applied to list before as well as those that have already applied to list on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges. Even though the CSRC has set a date for applications it has not set a date for when the GEM board will open. Analysts said that the board could start operating in October.
