A media release by Datang Telecom Technology forecast the first dip into the red in nine years for the telecoms firm, citing declining sales and intense competition. A subsidiary of state-owned Datang is currently partnered with Siemens to develop China's homegrown 3G standard, known as TD-SCDMA. Analysts said that Beijing-based Datang's share of the phone equipment market was significantly affected by the rise of Shenzhen-based ZTE Corp and Huawei Technologies. Details of the losses are expected to be released on April 11.
