Chinese media reported that a chlorine gas leak in Chongqing municipality was brought under control by rescue workers. The leak, which was a result of an explosion at the Tianyuan Chemical Plant, killed nine and injured three. Chongqing Vice-Mayor Zhou Mubing was appointed to lead an investigation into the incident.
