A new program, called Dell YouthConnect, will spend $2 million in cash and in-kind grants of products to the China Education Development Foundation and the China Youth Development Foundation.
The idea is that these grants will be used to improve information communication technology education and supply Chinese youths with computers.
Dell has donated more than $740,000 to set up 25 Dell learning centers in 15 cities across China since 2006. Now the program is going international and will be rolled out in other countries before the end of the year.
However, Austin Business Journal reports that Dell has seen a 54% decline in third-quarter profits compared with the same period last year.
