The success of the iPod and the iPad has changed the game for computer makers. Now Dell Greater China President Amit Midha says a 7-inch tablet is due in the next few weeks and a 10-inch tablet in six months at the earliest.
Midha said Dell will launch "a whole slew" of new products in the next six to 12 months.
Midha confirmed that the 7-inch tablet will run Google’s Android smartphone operating system and that Dell intends to sell its current 5-inch tablet in China "later this year."
Dell has a deal with China Mobile to distribute its smartphones in China. The Wall Street Journal reported Midha as saying China will overtake the US as the company’s biggest PC market by 2012, reiterating that Dell expects the PC market in China to grow by 18%-20%, with Dell increasing its market share.
