Less than a day after reclaiming the US House of Representatives after 12 years of Republican control, the Democrats started calling for tougher measures against China. Leading Democrat Charles Rangel said the US needs to take a stronger stance against China, the South China Morning Post reported. "I don't think the administration has taken up any issue with the Chinese," said Rangel. "We should insist if they are going to trade with us it's going to be fair trade." The comments may signal a more difficult road ahead for trade but the still-Republican president and his veto power may curb their influence.
