"Desperate Housewives" on Chinese TV

In another sign of China's opening up, the sexy US soap opera "Desperate Housewives" soon will air on conservative but increasingly open Chinese television, state media reported, noting the smash-hit soap has "an almost cult-like following in America and Britain". The show, featuring sexually frustrated wives, will premier in September on state-run China Central Television's CCTV-8 the only US series to air in China this year and could reach 180 million households in China.
