The Dow Chemical Company, a leading industrial chemical giant based in the US, will spend $204 million creating a logistics center of chemicals supply chain in Tianjin, covering 50 hectares of land.
The agreement was signed between the investment vehicle Dow Chemical (China) Investment and the administrative committee of the Nangang Industrial Zone of Tianjin. The illustration is of buildings in the center of Tianjin.
Tank Storage magazine reports the logistics center will provide liquid chemicals storage service and could eventually handle 9 million tonnes of liquid chemicals per year.
The agreement will involves liquid chemical tank areas of up to 340,000 square metrers with 650,000 square meters for railway tank loading and unloading, and 40,000 square meters for road tankers.
The project will also build associated facilities, shipping dock, public utilities and other infrastructure.
