Eight children killed in knife attack at Chinese school

Eight children were stabbed to death and another five injured in an attack on a primary school Nanping city, Fujian province, state media reported. A former community doctor in the city, Zheng Minsheng, has been arrested in connection with the attack, according to a spokesman for the local public security bureau. The spokesman added that Zheng, who worked at a local community clinic until he resigned in June 2009, is believed to have a history of mental health problems. The incident took place at 7:20 a.m. as students were arriving for class at Nanping Experimental Primary School. The attacker was subdued by a passerby and school security guards.
