Pujiang Intelligence Valley in Shanghai has been highly commended by several governmental agencies and media both domestically and internationally. It has won many prizes as an environment-friendly area.
The Pujiang Intelligence Valley is in the Cao Hejing Development Area of Pujiang County of Minhang District of Shanghai. So far, four research and development buildings and one office building have been completed, with a total area of 136 million square meters.
This is not a government sponsored effort. The initial completion of the valley has shown the way in energy conservation and environmental protection.
One of the features of Pujiang Intelligence Valley is that the entire architecture adopts ten mature foreign energy-effcient technologies, including ground source heat pump, pipe laying in the floor-slab, outer heat preservation of the outer wall, the completely new wind and heat exchange, outer sunshine prevention rolling screen, double Low-E glass window, the usage of the light and heat of solar energy, energy saving lighting with high efficiency, green roof and rain collection.
English.Eastday.com reports that after operating for more than two years, there has been a 76% saving in power used and electricity costs have been cut by 87.7%.
