Chinese and Russian technicians have begun to install equipment for the first phase of the Tianwan nuclear power station in Lianyungang, Jiangsu province, Xinhua reported. The Russian nuclear power minister Alexander Rumyantsev visited the city for the start of the installation.
The first phase of the project involves two nuclear power generating units with a designed capacity of 1,000MW, modelled on Russian nuclear power equipment. The power station also uses control equipment supplied by Siemens of Germany.
