Ericsson said it would develop technology to support new TD-SCDMA high-speed mobile phone networks in China as the Chinese evaluate various 3G technologies, which allow users to send multimedia data through their phone. Separately, Ericsson China issued a US$100,000 order to Beijing-based Telestone Technologies for products to be deployed in a trial 3G network project in the Mainland, the first phase of a three-year product development agreement between the companies for use on Ericsson's wireless network platforms in China and Southeast Asian markets.
