The European Union looks likely to maintain its arms embargo against China, Agence France-Presse reported, citing a US State Department official. Nicholas Burns, the US State Department Under Secretary for Political Affairs, told US lawmakers that before the US intervened, sale of sensitive weapons to China seemed imminent, which would have threatened US and EU security and tilt the balance of power in Asia.
