China's Ministry of Science and Technology and the European Space Agency (ESA) launched a three-year remote sensing program in Xiamen, Fujian province. The program, nicknamed �Dragon�, will use satellites to monitor agricultural issues, water resources, flooding and pollution. The aim of the program will be to encourage increased use of ESA resources by China and to further space cooperation between Europe and China. The program is staffed by nearly 140 Chinese and European scientists.
