A former Boeing engineer has been arrested in the US on charges of stealing aerospace trade secrets on behalf of the Chinese government from 1973 to 1996, Reuters reported. Greg Chung, a naturalized US citizen, is accused of taking and concealing Boeing trade secrets relating to the Space Shuttle, the C-17 military transport aircraft and the Delta IV rocket. Officials also said Chung met with Chinese officials during trips to the country and sent 24 manuals about the B-1 Bomber there. If convicted of espionage, conspiracy and other charges, 72-year-old Chung faces more than 100 years in prison, according to officials in the California federal court. In an unrelated spying case announced at the same press conference, a US defense department employee, a Taiwan native and a Chinese national were all arrested on Monday in a case involving selling secrets of US military plans in Taiwan to the mainland.
