All Nippon Airways, Japan’s second largest airline, plans to increase its services to Chinese cities and other Asian destinations once a new runway is operational at Narita airport. The new runway, due to open in April this year, will allow ANA to use about 50 per cent more slots than it is currently allowed.
The carrier plans to double to two a day its flights between Narita and Beijing and Hong Kong. The frequency of Shanghai- Narita flights would be increased from two a week to two a day.
Air China and China Eastern will also significantly increase their services to Japan.
