FedEx Express has announced the official opening of its expanded customer service center in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei Province in central China.
The new customer service center has been upgraded to serve international express customers in East China and domestic time-definite customers throughout the country.
The new facility — which has the capacity to expand with business development needs — employs 95 additional customer service representatives (bringing the total to 200) and is equipped with the advanced Cisco IPCC system for voice connections.
The call system allows the three FedEx call centres in Wuhan, Beijing and Guangzhou to take calls from each other when any one of them is over capacity.
CargoNews Asia reported that it was established in May 2007 when FedEx launched domestic services in China. Then the Wuhan customer service center was designed to serve domestic time-definite customers.
As a result of the expansion, the center will now assist customers in East China with all aspects of their international and domestic shipping, from pick-up to delivery to the consignee’s doorstep.
