Finnair had a 3% rise in passengers in May of this year when compared to last year, the company reported in a press release today. While demand for leisure flights fell, overall traffic including leisure was up 10% from a year earlier. Finnair has seen strong growth within Asia as well, with 28% growth in traffic demand, as well as a 37% growth in kilos carried in cargo, compared to only 30 percent worldwide. That 37% figure includes Finnair’s new MD-11 aircraft, which started operation in May, and flies to Hong Kong and Seoul.
