Kandi Technologies has opened Jinhua City’s first ‘battery charging farm’ and ‘express change’ battery station. It has also launched sales of its pure electric vehicles.
With a low base price of RMB39,500 (US$5,918) excluding batteries, and with the expectation of local subsidies, the first 20 Kandi EVs sold out immediately.
The Jinhua Dong Guan Electric Vehicle Charging Station, Zhejiang province’s first EV battery charging farm and express change station, is already in place. The aim is 3.000 new energy vehicles in use before the end of 2012.
What does it save? Assume one car’s mileage in one year is 20,000 kilometers, 3,000 new energy vehicles can provide a savings of 3.6 million liters of gasoline, thereby eliminating 8,114 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
MarketWatch reports Kandi has separated the car from the battery. A professional services firm provides battery leasing, management, charging, rapid change, and recycling.
