Fixed asset investment was 17.4 per cent higher in the first 10 month of 2001 than in the same period of 2000, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. The bureau did not give figures for October alone, but it had previously reported a year-on-year rise in the first nine months of the 2001 of 18.2 per cent.
Infrastructure, which made up about half the total investment, rose by 11.1 per cent year-on-year in the 10-month period, while investment in property rose by 31.2 per cent.
