Flextronics has opened a new computing facility in Wuzhong. It will work with Flextronics’ other computing sites in Beijing, Shanghai and Wujiang providing complete design and manufacturing services for desktop, all-in-one computers, notebook products and tablets. The facility is more than 1 million square feet in size.
The Wuzhong Export Processing Zone (EPZ) was chosen as the location for the facility based on its infrastructure, strong government support, talent pool and its proximity to the Suzhou Higher Education Center. Flextronics expects to hire more than 12,000 engineering and manufacturing employees to support services at this location.
PR NewsWire reports the company has invested in state-of-the-art systems for the development of employee-centric living and working areas. It has also installed an energy-saving, carbon dioxide reduction ecosystem onsite.
