Nine southern provinces, Hong Kong and Macau will sign cooperation agreements on tourism and the environment in July, a follow-up to discussions inaugurating the Pan-Pearl River Delta forum, state media quoted Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua as saying. Guangdong Environmental Protection Bureau Director-General Li Qing said next month's session would set environmental standards for industries and align pollution abatement strategies. Li said most Pearl River water came from the Xijiang River, starting in Yunnan, making water conservation important to all Forum members.
