Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical Group (2196.HKG) and its partners raised their offer for Maryland-based hospital operator Chindex International (CHDX.NASDAQ) to about US$433 million to counter another bidder, Bloomberg reported, citing a Monday filing from Fosun in Hong Kong. Drug maker Fosun Pharma’s venture with TPG Capital and Roberta Lipson, Chindex’s CEO and founder, boosted its bid for the hospital operator to US$24 a share from the previous US$19.50, according to the filing. A cash bidder had offered $23 per share, Chindex said. Chindex runs the United Family Healthcare chain of high-end hospitals and clinics in several Chinese cities.
