Yesterday was the deadline for online gaming companies to install and operate systems that would restrict minors' playing time by eliminating half of their earned credits in the game if they remained online for more than three hours a day, and all game credits for playing more than five hours a day. Online gamers are also required to register their real names and identity card numbers to show their age. Ten percent of China's 31.23 million online gamers are minors.
