This may not be a first but it is probably leading the pack. Qualcomm, a dealer in advanced wireless voice and data services, has set up a 3G connected computer classroom project in Jishishan county, Linxia prefecture, Gansu province.
This is effectively a total computer environment within a classroom so that all students can be reached, taught, helped and guided simultaneously.
Qualcomm calls this its Wireless Reach Initiative and other prominent partners of the project include the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, the Chinese Language and Cultural Education Foundation (CLCEF) and China Telecom’s Gansu Bureau Linxia Branch.
There will be seven computer classrooms which include computers, EV-DO data cards, related software and internet service, in four local schools.
TMCNet.com reports Qualcomm’s donation to Jishishan county accelerates educational development.
