A leak of sulphur dioxide from a chemical plant in central Hubei province, hospitalized at least 108 people, state media reported. The leak was reportedly caused by a lightning strike overnight, which knocked out the insulating system at the factory in the city of Yidu. Sulphur dioxide gas causes breathing difficulties and can lead to death. Reports said all of those hospitalized had been treated and the source of the leak contained.
