General Motors said it would launch two new made-in-China cars under the Chevrolet brand in February, boosting its offering in an increasingly competitive market. The new small and mid-size models, which were not named, will be sold through a network of 100 dealerships to be set up across China, GM said in a statement. To date GM has focused on expanding its China lineup in the premium and luxury market, but analysts said the new announcement reflected a shift of focus to the fast-growing small and mid-size market segments, which account for 70% of all auto sales in China.
