Coming just days before Google's scheduled NASDAQ multi-billion-dollar share offering, Paris-based Reporters Without Borders accused search engine giants Yahoo and Google of helping Chinese government censorship and called on the US to invoke its Global Internet Freedom Act to confront China on the issue. The Act aims to combat online government censorship around the world. The group said Yahoo had been censoring its Chinese-language search-engine for years and suggested Google, which recently took a stake in Chinese search engine leader Baidu.com, appeared to be headed in the same direction. It said searches for �Tibet independence� on their China sites yielded no results.
