China has published a list of 806 approved manufacturers of food staples to reassure consumers after a spate of outbreaks of food poisoning, South China Morning Post said. The full list was published on a government website with the comment that consumers could buy goods from the recommended enterprises without concern. The publication followed a six-month survey of more than 60,000 producers of goods such as flour, rice, cooking oil and vinegar around the country. It found that 80 per cent of large companies and 59 per cent of small ones met health standards.
