The Chinese Communist Party’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection has found senior executives of the country’s aviation administration used their authority over flight routes and time slots to garner substantial bribes from airlines, South China Morning Post reported, citing a report published on the commission’s website. In the report focusing on Air China, one of the country’s largest airlines, the commission also accused some staff members for playing golf and misusing government vehicles, and claimed the company lacked a clear management system for its subsidiaries. Serious corruption cases were also spotted in the company’s branches involved in purchasing aviation materials.
