GSK investigators to be tried publicly

British investigator Peter Humphrey and his American wife, Yu Yingzeng, will be prosecuted in public, Reuters reported, citing state media. The couple “will be tried in public” the official Xinhua news agency said on Thursday, citing a statement from the Shanghai No.1 Intermediate People’s Court. The announcement comes after the US and Britain raised concerns about access to the trial. The couple are being tried on charges of illegally obtaining private information for work they did for under-pressure British drug maker GlaxoSmithKline (GSK.NYSE, GSK.LON).
