Hackers infiltrated the web site of an Australian film festival in protest to the screening of a documentary about an exiled Uighur activist Beijing believes to be responsible for inciting recent riots in Xinjiang, AP reported. A Chinese flag was posted on the website of the Melbourne International Film Festival for 45 minutes on Saturday and English-language messages demanded that the festival organizers apologize to all Chinese people. A Chinese citizen, who claimed to be responsible, told Australian media that he took the action to protest the documentary about US-based activist Rebiya Kadeer, who is expected to attend the festival in Melbourne in early August. Four Chinese films pulled out of the festival in protest of the Kadeer documentary and Chinese diplomats in Australia have demanded the film be withdrawn from the event. The documentary, “10 Conditions of Love,” premiered on Sunday without incident.
