China's Haier Group ranked as Asia's seventh-most influential brand at
the second annual "Asian Top 500 Brands" event held by the Asian Brand
Lab in Hong Kong on Sunday, Xinhua
reported (in Chinese). Haier was followed on the list by Korea's LG,
Hong Kong's HSBC and Japan's Nissan. Haier also won the "most valuable
brand" award at the event, and Haier boss Zhang Ruimin was elected
"person of the year." Haier, China's leading electric appliance maker,
has been focusing on developing overseas mainstream and high-end
